Fog Horn Sound

Hello plumbing gurus. I have a very loud FOG HORN sound when I turn on any faucet. I turned off all valves leading into every toilet so the toilets are now out of the equation. I then disabled all valves leading into each faucet until the sound went away. I then opened each valve then the associated faucet. Every faucet caused the same sound. I then was able to isolate each side of the house by turning off each feed to its appropriate side of the house. NOTE: in the basement there are valves servicing the left side and the right side of the house. So, once I determined which side of the house was causing the problem I was able to isolate it to the master bathroom. The only faucet I could not disable was the Jacuzzi tub. Do you think this is the problem?

You have done a outstanding job of analyzing your problem by the process of elimination. Did you farther isolate it down to the hot or cold lines? Since you ended up at the Jucuzzi I would shut the water off to the house and open up the faucet. Check the seats for trash or obstruction and turn the water back on for a minute to flush out the supplies. Now try it and let me know. Regards, Tom

agiotti agrees: Helped me eliminate the jucuzzi as the suspect.

Hello,
I have isolated it to be on the cold side only. I increased the water preassure at the inlet and the fog horn sound has gone away. Thank you for your valuable response and sorry for getting back to you so late.

Hi Tom,

Your answer helped me dramatically. I did what you said and the sound did not go away. However, it helped me eliminate the tub's faucet. I purchased a pressure gauge at my local Lowe’s store and check the pressure at the outside faucet closest to the water meter. The pressure reading was 30 PSI. At the inlet there is a pressure regulator which I opened a quarter of a turn and increased the pressure to 60 PSI. Once I did this the FOG HORN sound cleared.
