Faucet/Sprayer won't return to the faucet mode when sprayer is turned off.
The kitchen unit I have is a single handle faucet/sprayer combination (brand unknown). When the sprayer is being used then turned off, the unit should return to faucet mode next time the water is turned on but it stays in spray mode.

Glad I asked! I used to hit the back section of the black rubber toggle "switch" on top of the pullout to get the faucet back on. After a year or 5 I finally said, "screw this" and made myself fix it. Here's what ya do: 1. Rip off the black rubber cover from the top of the pullout. (No care needed here. Just grab it and pull the damn thing off.) Inside mine I found the white "paddle"-shaped toggle switch attached closer to the front of the opening under the "head" by a single shaft connection. The rear "handle" portion of the paddle is not connected to anything so it is free to move around 360 degrees. 2. With an old toothbrush, just start scrubbing the hell out of the entire opening, especially under the "paddle head" where it connects to the pullout. I sprayed a bunch of diluted Simple Green in there for good measure. Rotate the paddle unit to get under it all the way around 3. Alternately, push the handle and the head a bunch of times in quick succession. Thoroughly scrub again. 4. Rinse the mechanism and test it. Turn the water on with the unit in faucet mode. Hit the head. The sprayer should engage. Turn the water off and back on. It should return to faucet mode. If it doesn't, repeat the process, but allow the cleaning solution (glass cleaner, whatever) to sit for a minute or two. Toggle the crap out of the switch again, scrub and rinse. 5. Blow out the water and stuff the rubber cover back in place. Aaaaaaaaaaaaand, yerdone. OK, yea I'm asking and answering my own question. I wanted to share my fix but found only one guy looking for an answer to the same problem but I didn't wanna sign up for YouTube just to answer one person. -Rob
