    Earring down bath-tub drain?
Quick question: My wife dropped her earring down the bath-tub drain. No water has gone down the drain, but I don't know if bath tubs have a trap similar to a sink. Can it be retrieved or is it lost? Can a plumber help?

    Hey Mark,
Your wife's earring's lodged in one of two places providing no water has been run at the time she dropped it or afterwards. It's either in the tub shoe directly below the drain or it's at the base of the bend in the trap. Yes it can be retrived. This will involve opening up the access hole behind the tub and taking apart the tub waste and overflow. Unless you have plumbing skills this is best left to a experienced plumber who can go into the trap and fish out the earring. Good luck, Tom
