Drains gone mad

How do I fix my drains in my home? When my upstairs neighbor uses his dishwasher it backs up into my sink. And when they do laundry it shoots out of my drain line. I just got a washer and dryer and I am not able to wash clothes since the water comes out when the washer begins draining. How do I go about fixing the problem?

You share common drain with your neighbor above. The blockage is somewhere bellow (your) level. Since the person upstairs is higher than you, he/she has no problem with drainage since all his water dumps into your apartment. It is a common problem.

Call plumber to snake your drain below your floor level.

Milo nailed the problem. The solution would be to snake out both the kitchen and washer roof vents. POut our enough cable to reach the base and 20 feet more. Good luck, Tom
