I am trying to find if we have one problem or many. When it is very wet weather we have slow drains. Some times when running the washer it causes water to back up into the bathtub. Water also comes out around the bottom of the toilet. There is a lot of glub-glub noises that come from the kitchen, bathroom sink and the toilet.Loud enough that our 2year old runs in to check the toilet for fish! There is a strong smell that starts in the bathroom closet were the back side of the central air vent is and can also be smelt in the bedrooms. It is not smelling outside around the scept tank. When the weather dries up we still have the noise and smell. It just isn't as bad. Do not know if it is to do with drain or the outside fill lines. Thanks so much and hope someone can help.

I just recently had to lay all new sewer lines inside and out of my home. When my washer ran the water would back up into the basement through a drain pipe. When there is a clog the water goes out the closest route. Call your sewer company and ask them to speak to the representative in your area. Ask them if there has been any trouble reported from any previous tenents? First see if you have a clean out and get an eel and stick it in your pipes and try to loosen anything up. My problem was that I had clay pipes that weren't connected in my yard and were about 6in apart and the water would leave my house and hit ground then backup to my basement. It smelled aweful. My rep. showed me where the previous owner had put a clean out in the yard and if you have one it is the best place to stick and eel. You might have to use and electric eel. If none of this works you might have to dig up your yard to see where the problem is. Most people that have homes built in the 70 or earlier have clay pipes and they do move.
