Does Kitchen Sink Sprayer Go On Same Side As Garbage Disposal?
I have a double bowl kitchen sink. Does the sprayer go on same bowl as the garbage disposal or on the opposite bowl?

In a four hole sink the sprayer installs on the right of the faucet. We have always installed our garbage disposals in the left hand tub in our new construction but if you're doing it yourself you may install the disposal in either tub. Your choice. Regards, Tom

    Tom,

Thanks for your reply. Here's my situation: We just had our house built and the plumber put the sprayer on the far left side of the sink (left bowl) and the garbage disposal on the right bowl. In my previous two homes, the sprayer and disposal were on the same bowl. It made sense to me to be able to spray the food off the plate and down the disposal - all in the same bowl. Is there a "standard" in the plumbing trade that says that both sprayer and disposal should be in the same bowl or opposite bowls?

    Regards,

    Mark

The Plumber doing the installation should have asked you if you had a preference.

Typically the sprayer is set up for a right handed person on the right side and the disposer goes on the same side as the dishwasher.
