    Could somebody help me clearly understand pump head i.e static head, delivery head
    Could somebody help me clearly understand pump head i.e static head, delivery head, residual head and friction head . Please give me examples in S.I units. This is for plumbing purposes

    I must have fell asleep in my fluid mechanics course.

    Here is residual head, a term I never heard of: Pump engineering - residual head on pump-system curve

    Static head is easy, it's the force of gravity acing on the water and is dependent on the height of the column.

    Friction head is really a loss. It's easier to do the problems if you express it as a length of pipe. Like an elbow is worth a foot of pipe. It is also dependent on flow and dependent on the type of pipe (i.e. smoothness of the wall)
