copper water pipes deteriorating

My copper water pipes are deteriorating. The water is from a private municipal supply regulated by DEP. The water is agressive with a low pH. Alledgedly, DEP is not urgently granting a solution to rectify the pH. As with a water heaters' sacrficial anode which reverses the polarity of the water to tank electro-molecular balance, is there a similar solution for domestic copper pipes by inducing a low DC current with the proper polarity, and which, would be safe and non-detectable for humans?
