Converting shower stall to Bath tub rough-in

I have a walk-in shower on top of a concrete slab. I would like to install a 60" tub. Will there be a p- trap in the slab? Will it be located as such to line up with a tub? if not what will i need to do? Also please provide rough-in demensions for a 60'' tub

Hi Seapony:

Most showers get roughed in so the drain and the ptrap are centrally located. This means that the shower drain will have a 2" PTRAP and will need to have the 2" PTRAP cut out. The 2" PVC pipe will need to be reduced from 2" PVC to 1.5" PVC pipe and will need to be relocated to the right or left end of the new 60" tub...depending on which side you choose to have your WET WALL (shower valve) at.

A new 1.5" Ptrap will need to be located under the tub waste and overflow assembly (see bath tub drain & waste picture below). Most tubs rough in at about 14.5" to 15" from the back wall to the center of the tub waste and overflow assembly and 1.5" from the face of the wet wall studs to the center of the tub waste and overflow assembly. You will need an 1.5"desanco fitting (similar to image below) to transition from the 1.5" PVC ptrap to the tub waste and overflow assembly.

Your tub rough in could be different so be sure to check the specification sheet/installation instructions before you rough the tub in place. Look for information on a LEDGER STRIP to be located at the back wall...

Let us know if you need more information...glad to help.
