    Cold water tank not filling
My cold water tank in the loft is not filling so my hot water tank has now run out. The taps are working fine as they are supplied through mains pipe (so not a problem with the supply to house, I double checked the stopcock and even turned it up a little to increase the pressure). I have read on similar posts that it may be a problem with the ballcock, I've had a look and a poke no obvious blockage, it's sitting open now as there is no water in the tank. Is there anything I can do now to restore the water flow as it is after 5pm on a Sunday so I can't buy a replacement?

What is "cold water tank" ? Toilet tank ?

I assume it is toilet tank:

    1. Close and Open all the way the angle stops. If nothing happens than...

    2. Close angle stop, remove water supply and clean it. Put towel over angle stop and turn it ON for few seconds. See if you get any water flow...

    3. Remove top of Fill Valve and clean it
    4. Reinstall and turn water back ON
