Cold water OK in kitchen tap but no hot -mixer tap
No problems with tap which is a mixer in kitchen, suddenly no hot water but cold water coming out OK. Could this be a build up of lime? And how can I fix it?

To help we will have to know the brand name of the faucet and its type, one handle or two knobs. You have mineral buildup that's clogging the inlet ports of the cartridge or faucet seats. This comes from not flushing yiour water heater on a regular basis. First let me show you how to flush, not drain, your heater.

For long life and fewer troubles you should keep your heater clear of mineral build-up by flushing on a regular schedule. Attach a hose to the boiler drain at the bottom of the tank. With the pressure on, open the boiler drain and let it run until the water runs clear. You will see a spurt of red,(rust) followed by white or yellow grains,(lime or calcium carbonate). This shouldn't take more then a few minutes. Do this monthly to keep it clear. Don't forget to flush it out every month. Your heater will thank you for it.
Get back to me with the information I need and we'll get on your faucet. Regards, Tom

Have you unhooked the hot water supply line and checking to see if there isn't a blockage in the angle stop? Back to you, Tom
