Changed Hot Water Heater, Now very little hot water pressure.
Just replaced my water heater, now the kitchen faucet and the master shower gets very low hot water pressure. What is going on?All other sinks/faucets get fine water pressure both hot and cold.

What you have done when you replaced the heater is dislodge minerals built up in the pipe walls and they are now blocking the inlet ports of the cartridges in the kitchen faucet andn the shower valve.
The solution would be to the valves in question, open them up and clear the inlet ports. The next step,( and this is important ) While the valves are still open turn the water back on for a minute to flush out the supplies. To tell you more I'll need more details about both valves.
To prevent minerals from building up in your new water heater you must set up a monthly maintenance schedule. Let me show you how.

For long life and fewer troubles you should keep your heater clear of mineral build-up by FLUSHING NOT DRAINING on a regular schedule. Attach a hose to the boiler drain at the bottom of the tank. With the pressure on, open the boiler drain and let it run until the water runs clear. You will see a spurt of red,(rust) followed by white or yellow grains,(lime or calcium carbonate). This shouldn't take more then a few minutes. Do this monthly to keep it clear. Now flush out your hot water lines on ALL fixtures that are affected . Now pull each aerator and clean the screens. Be sure you put them back together the same way you took them out. Don't forget to flush it out every month. Your heater will thank you for it. Hope this helps and thank you for rating my answer, Tom

Speedball just helped me with the SAME issue. I did his steps exactly as read.. . and now all is well. Take note that he says FLUSH... not drain, the water heater.

Cdprock follow Tom’s instructions and you will be fine, also it would not hurt to remove the Aerator and the shower head clean and install, good luck
