    Cellar drain check valve
    I have 4" cast iron sewer pipe running under cellar floor. There is a "y" with a cellar drain attached to it with a built in trap and check valve. The ball part of the check valve is broken so I'm assuming I would have to replace the complete unit.

    Tried searching internet for the part but can't seem to find a 4" cellar drain pipe with trap and check valve. Might be the terminology I'm using. I'm thinking I can cut off the old one with a sawsall and hook a new one with a rubber boot??

    If you're referring to a floor drain with a check valve I might just have a solution that doesn't involve tearing up or replacing anything. They make a floor drain check valve called a FloodGuard,(see image). Check them out at;
    Flood guards for floor drains - check valve to prevent flooding from FAMOUS PLUMBING SUPPLY. Good luck, Tom
