Where's the main water shut off?

Where's the main water shut off?

Just moved into a home built in the 70's and it's not a well. I can't find the water shut off. Any ideas for where to look?

While all should some don't. I have several rental houses where you have to shut the water off at the water meter ( which is always an option of course) But you need to find where the main comes into the house, this is often in the basement or under the house in the crawl space.

Now I know by codes they are suppose to have one, but after working on 100's of homes over the years, I find many don't
