burping toilet

yes its true, my toilet burps a big bubble when you flush. Sometimtes it spits up quite high. I have turned off the water, flushed it down and refilled the tank. Its been like this for about 3 + years. i dont know if it was like this with the previous owner.

Hi Leslie,

Let me explain what's happening. You have a partial clog in your drain. When the toilet flushes the discharge hits the clog and bounces back sending a bubble of air ahead of it. That's the "burp" you see and hear.
the solution would be to snake out the drain from the lavatory roof vent. Good luck, Tom
