I am installing a new bathroom in our basement. The house is about 2 years old. The builder insists the rough-in is ready to go but I am not so sure. The attach pictures show the right and left sides of the room from the entrance perspective.

I will be placing a 72" shower pan with glass block on the left and a toilet and lav sink on the right.
The measurements for the right side shown in the pictures. I have to move the shower drain over a bit to accomadate the setup hence the cutout in the cement in pic 2.
I am concerned that the shower drain is about 7 feet from the vent on the lav sink. I thought this was outside the allowable code? My fix is to add a wet bar sink in the room behind and tie the shower drain and the sink into the existing vent (not seen in pic) that runs to the lav sink and I am assuming the toliet too.
Is this correct or have I been drinking too much while reading other posts?
I know I will have to dig out some cement to get the drain for the wet bar sink to line up but can I connect it to the same horizontal drain from the shower after the p-trap?

Hi Mark,

(Fig#1) We make our vents 2" in the Tampa Bay Area but your codes probably allow for 1 1/2". The toilet stub up should be 12" from the center of the pipe to the plate. It looks a little long. I hope the bar sink drain's connected to the toilet discharge so the toilet's vented.

(Fig#2) I hope that red arrow is pointing to where the shower connects to the wet bar drain so the bar sink wetvents it. Otherwise the shower's unvented and it will affect drainage. You don't connect the wet bar sink drain to the shower, you connect the shower to the wet bar drain and it wetvents from there. ( I realize it must sound the same to you but we tie to a vented fixture and not the other way around.
Outside of a missed wall for the lavatory the layout looks good and the plumber picked that up with a dogleg.

Thank You for the response.

In fig 1, I believe the toilet stub is connected to the Lav sink drain next to it...this one is vented so I think that should work but I am not sure what you mean by "plate" ? The bar sink will be on the other side of the room and will be wyed with the shower (and seperately vented, as you described in fig 2)

In fig 2 you are correct about the red arrow. Thanks for clarifying the setup of the DWV for me here. I understand what you are saying.

A plate in construction lingo refers to the board that's secured to the floor the upright studs attach to. This is what we measure from. cheers, Tom
