Anti-siphon leake and can't get handle off
Ok, so I have read up on some of the threads on this topic, but can't seem to find the answer. I have the attached faucet on the outside of the house. When the hose is connected, there is water leaking out of the anti-siphon (at least I think that is what it is - the grey thing on the top). I tried removing this, and I can't it is stuck on there. Either way I twist it, it just moves the gray cap and whatever is underneath is stuck.

I also thought that maybe I should just replace the whole thing. I tried removing the handle but the screw in the middle is stuck. No matter how hard I try, it won't budge. So I can't get the thing off to take a look at it. I tried WD40 hoping that would loosen it, but no avail.

Our faucet looks like the one in the vide on this website

    Please help!

You can buy a reapir kit at ACE. Amazon.com: WILLIAM H. HARVEY COMPANY 090496 ANTI-SIPHON FROST- PROOF SILLCOCK REPAIR KIT: Home Improvement That screw is not stuck but you need the correct size Phillips screw driver. You probably have a few laying in your drawer, most are #1 and #2, place the driver tip in the screw and see if there is any wiggle, you want a driver that fits tight. Push toward the valve hard with one hand while you turn counterclockwise with the other. Once the handle is removed the next nut is a reverse nut so clockwise actually loosens it.

The screw is not a Phillips screw, it is a flat head. I have a picture I could send, could I email it to you or is there a way to post the photo?

You should be able to remove the gray cap and replace the seal in the anti-siphon valve.

Don't pay too much attention to the guy on YouTube. He doesn't have a clue.
The "washer" he keeps referring to is the stem packing, which prevents water leaking around the stem. It has nothing to do with a leaking or dripping faucet.

Yes, the handle screw in frost proof hose bibs seem to be torque pretty tight. However removing the handle, or for that matter removing the stem won't do you any good. The leak is in the anti-siphon valve. It's either, remove the cap of the anti-siphon valve or replace the entire hose bib.

Usually, the anti-siphon attachments are screwed onto the hose valve - or sometimes even are permanent part of the hose valve. First determine which one you have. If the second one, than just replace whole hose valve. If it is removable attachment than take large channel locks, grab it well and turn it in counter-clock-wise motion. Brass is soft metal. It will resist for two turns - but then it will go easily. Then buy and install new attachment.

    Milo,
See the YouTube link, I assume Ben meant what he said about the "grey thing on the top".

Well, that all sounds great, but the problem is that I can't get anything off. I thought the guy from YouTube was kind of a tool too, but my faucet looks just like his which is why I posted that.

I can't get the anti siphon "cap" off at all. It just keeps turning, without coming loose.

And I can't get the rest of the thing off to replace the whole thing. I'm so lost!!
