Air in water lines?

Asked Jun 22, 2012, 01:08 PM — 1 Answer
I have a well that has worked perfectly. The system had an in line sediment filter that had become clogged. I shut off the water before the sediment filter. There wasn't a shutoff after the filter so when I took the filter off, water ran back down the line. I replaced the filter, charged the line again and now I have nearly zero water pressure at my kitchen sink....I'm assuming there is water in the lines that needs to be purged....do I just let the faucet run until ????

Hi Wrhitchcock...

Remove the aerator (see image) at the end of the kitchen faucet and clean all the screens...keep them all in the same order as you remove them.

Run the water without the aerator in place and see if full water volume/pressure is restored. If the water flow is good, reinstall the cleaned aerator and you should be all set.

With any luck, that's all that is required here!! You may need to clean other fixtures as well, for example, the washing machine hoses if they have screens on them...

Questions? Let me know...
