    Hi..
    Can u help me to soLve this probLem of mine..
    Can you show me the soLution of this probLem..

    'a canoe has a velocity of 0.40m/s southeast relative to the earth. The canoe is on a river that is floating 0.50m/s east raletive to the earth. Find the velocity (magnitude and direction) of the canoe relative to the river.

    Have a sketch.

    Can you find the length of the line joining the tips of the two arrows? This will be the magnitude of the velocity and its direction. This is a sketch and is therefore not to scale, but with the proper calculations, you can find it.

    The answer I got is 0.217 m/s, bearing of 217.5 degrees
