Depends what you are looking for, The 2 big ones for a popular audience are Scientific American and New Scientist. New Scientist is better presented and deals with sometimes more fantastical thought in the field, whereas Scientific American is a little more grounded.

You should read both and see which style gels with you

Then there are hundreds of scientific journals, which publish the best research in the field.

Excellent answers above! My personal preference is Science News. It is published weekly and is a quick read for someone like me for whom science is not my main thing but a strong interest since I may not be interested in all of the particulars about the news, but do like to keep informed as to what is currently happening.

I'm not sure that there would be any single magazine that would be the best since there are so many things happening in science and there are already so many very fine magazines and journals concerning the different sciences, that I would think it to be a nearly impossible task to pool all of the enormous amount of scientific information into any single publication.
