Impulse & Momentum, Force & Friction

Susie is sitting on a bench watching the sunset when a child's ball rolls toward her. Kimberly returns the ball to the child by hitting it with her 1.5-kg bag at a speed of 15 m/s. With that force does Susie hit the ball when the time of contact lasts for 0.4 s?

Jason is trying to make his 60-kg dog go out of the house but the dog refuses to move. If the coefficient of sliding friction between the dog and the floor is 0.450, how much force must be exerted by Jason in order to move the dog with a constant speed?

A 1300-kg car moving at 40 m/s westward collides with a 1000-kg car moving at a certain velocity in the opposite direction. After the collision, the 1300-kg car attains velocity of 45 m/s westward while the 1000-kg vehicle, 35 m/s eastward. Find the velocity of the 1100-kg vehicle before the collision.

Thank you!

1. I see Susie and then Kimberley, and then again Susie

Ok, remember that

2. I don't know the formula relating Coefficient of friction and drag force. If you have one in your books, then, use it.

3. Remember the law of conservation of momentum? Use it here also.
