    Grade 11 physics help?
    I have problems with the formula to use for this question: For a projectile hrown horizontally at 50 km/h, calculate the velocities in the vertical direction at 1.0s, 2.0s and 3.0s.

    I am pretty sure that distance needs to be found.. but if I could get a step by step answer it would really help... I am new to physics and find that the text is too detailed. I am trying to help my daughter with this.

    Well in the vertical direction you have only air resistance and gravitational force operating on it-so 32'/sec should be drop in first second, 64 more feet in second #2 etc-as there is no given height I'ld say just use gravity to figure out to however many seconds you need to at 32'/sec/sec or 9.8m/sec/sec

    Thanks for the quick reply.. it was very helpful as I have not done this for 21 yrs and I'm very rusty at it now. The lack of height was really throwing me off... I will be able to help my daughter now.. Thanks
