10 instaces of php4.exe

hi, first off please dont answer this question by telling me to switch to linux, i use both linux and windows.

I am running zend 5.1.0, php4, apache webserver, and msql (latest public release as of today). Ive been noticing lately that my computer has been slowed down immensly after installing MySQL, and when i look at the processes running, i have 10 instances of php4.exe running. The kicker is i havent really started writing any code on this machine, and im not hosting any sites of this machine (its a laptop, i do most dev on my desktop). i dont have this same problem on my desktop computer, and im wondering if anybody has seen this before and knows any fixes. Ive tried restarting the apache service, manually ending all the instances of php4.exe etc. no luck. zend has been crashing alot too. i uninstalled alot of unnecessasary programs, ran a bit defender virus scan, and defraged my hd, all of which did not improve stability or performance.

thanks
