Hopefully this one goes thru, the first try kicked me out. I've been trying to take general night shots of the stars with my D40 (18-55mm kit lens). I can barely get a few pin pricks of stars to show. The camera is set on "M", ISO at Auto, Shutter on "Bulb" (time 1-2 minutes), IR remote, and on a tripod. I've even tried using a 80-200mm lens and that barely made a difference. I am wondering if there is a setting I am missing or do I need to use a special lens. Hopefully there is someone that can kindly help me out here. I'm going on a hiking trip and would like to take some really nice stars pics..
