Canon Ixus - without CE Mark?

Hi there

Just bought a Canon Ixus 100 from Simplyelectronics, and while there seems to be a CE mark on the camera and the battery, there isn't on the box, manual or CD. Is that anything to worry about? The box has English and 3 far-eastern languages on it. (I am in the UK, btw).

What is the CE mark for anyway, and what does it mean if it is not there?

Thanks for your help

Guy
