In order to give you useful advise, we need to know what type of photos you want to take. Different cameras are better or worse for certain types of photography.

What are the features that you like in the IXUS camrera?

I currently use the canon sd800IS and the sony cybershot w80. To be honest, I like the canon's sleek design as well as its face detection + image stability. But as jcdill says, what kind of a photographer are you (casual, just everyday things...pretty serious...etc.) and how much are you looking to spend?

aneangel22 agrees: Canon all the way! I have 6 from point and shoot, slr, and dslr. My powershot is ALWAYS with me!

Not as good as it should be. Nikon goes for a more sleek, colorful design to redirect you attention away from the not so sleek picture quality. In the SLR world they are a very good competitor but in the point and shoot world they need a quite a bit of help!
