Best Digital Camera for less than $500

I am looking to purchase the best digital camera I can for less than $500. While I am especially taken by the features offered by the SONY MVC CD-350 (disc type) the sales people I have talked to seem to prefer the Fuji FinePix 55000 or the FinePix A310 which are both "stick type"??? Thanks. Ponton

When I bought my camera, a friend advised that it is better to buy a camera from a company that is solely into cameras as they usually have the best resolutions. Cannon has some really good ones under $500.

You can always look at this camera review site and then look somewhere else to find them cheaper... www.dpreview.com
