Understanding Kant

I have a test on Kant's Universal History, Perpetual Peace, and Groundworks. He is so confusing...i have tried to understand the flow of his thoughts but i have eventually gotten myself more lost. Does anyone understand him in a way that would be accessible for a non-philosopher like myself? I just need a quick summary of his thoughts so when i re-read the works i understand what he is essentially proving. THANKS!
