Bed bugs are a likely suspect for bites obtained in the bedroom and you really don't want to have them. I did help someone get rid of them once. I only advised and he did all the work. I never saw his appt. He didn't even own a vacuum cleaner at the time. That pic does look like larvae of some kind and not the bed bug variety.

Since you have the rash on your hands it may just be contact dermititus. An alergic reaction to something you touched.

They can easily be brought home if you have been traveling and staying in hotels.

The one thing you really didn't provide is "how big" in a real size or in comparison with another object that we know like a dime or even a ruler. With that I could have measured the bug from the photo.

I have been having my share of extermination problems in the past couple of years.

Last year was bees. Possibly carpenter bees because they were really agressive. Patching holes in trees is interesting.

This year some form of bug that likes rice. A hot/cold pack was given to us which had rice inside. Well, there were bugs inside too. They liked wool and rice. The process wasn't fun, but it was a lot easier than the bed bug process which ultimately involves sealing the matress for a few weeks untill they die.

This year I am also dealing with carpenter ants and slugs, although not inside. They are messing with an oak and an apple tree.

Ants have also been a problem this year and so have mosquitoes.

Snowalps, you probably carried it in from outside, on your clothes or body, but I've been assured that it is harmless, especially now that it's dead.

It's possible that you carried more in, but doubtful, so I wouldn't worry too much.

I did write back to my friend and tell him the size, hopefully he can figure out what it would have been had it lived.

Good luck.

It's unlikely your rash/itch came from this critter....

Or when it was still alive and snowalps would be sleeping. And then , he would let his own body weight onto it and it would get asphyxiated!

(well, i'm not sure but in case you, snowalps is a she, then you know what i meant...)
