tiny white bugs on my bathroom rug

This morning I was in the bathroom and i freeked out and yelled for my boyfriend because there was a cockroach climbing on the wall, when he came to kill it we were looking for where it went and we saw a bunch of tiny white bugs crowling in the bathroom rug, i took the rugs outside and sprayed them with bug spray, and did the same for the bathroom, but i dont know what they are, we couldnt find any in the carpet but i would like to know how to make sure they dont come back. They are very tiny and all white, i though they might be the cockroaches babbies or something but im having no luck finding what they are, ive never seen them before and we dont get alot of bugs in our appartment, but there are alot of cockroaches outside by the dumpster and the upstairs neighbors just moved so maybe they came from there? I dont know what to do about them and ive been vacuming and checking every inch of the house, please help. We live in the central vally of california if that helps. Thank you.

possibly silverfish?

Silverfish - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The ones I've seen are a lot whiter than the one pictured.

Just how tiny were the white ones, chelliebean? Silverfish are a possibility, as well as termites or fungus gnats. Silverfish run about 1/4 - 1/2 inch long(sometimes larger); termites go about 1/8 - 1/4 inch; and fungus gnats are barely visible. You said you can't find any now, correct? If you can even a cell phone picture will help with identification.

I think they are cockroch nymphs, baby cockroaches in there first stage, there () >that big, i havent seen anymore sence i sprayed and cleaned everything, and i bought cockroach bait and put it all around my appartment. So far no mote problems, i think when the upstairs neighbors moved it forced them down here, but im hoping the problem is delt with because i have trouble being in my own bathroom now, and ive spent wayto much time washing things. But i bought some bombing stuff too just in case. Do you think the roach bait will work if there are any remaning?

The cockroach baits will continue to work as long as you don't contaminate them with cleansers or pesticide bombs. Would you put Comet on your Cheerios?

The only thing that worries me is the color. Cockroach nymphs are normally only white when they have just molted. Exposure to air turns the "shell" brown. All of them at the same time being white is weird.

Sounds like maggots to me....fly larvae. Did they look like little wiggling pieces of rice?

Catsmine agrees: good suggestion, especially since they didn't come back
