A good quality 12 gauge shot gun with buck shot should do the trick. I admit it is a bit of over kill and can make a mess but it will kill the bees in flight.

Just kidding since I have the same problem. I use a spray that goes about 25 feet and kills on contact. Available at most hardware stores. I have been stung by a Bumble Bee and they hurt.

Bumble bees actually have their nests underground! Yep. I saw them come out and go into their burrows and I can tell you that they are underground. You need to have someone watch for the bumble bees and see if they don't land on the ground near a hole the size of a quarter and go inside or leave from a hole the size of a quarter. If you find the nest, then you can spray the nest at night when they are inside their underground retreat to get them all.

It could also be a carpenter bee. These bees are aggressive and only one of the sexes sting. So instead of stinging, they annoy you. Last year, I got stung 5X because I was working near their nest.
They were hanging out in the shed. There is dust you can spread or inject into their burrowing holes. They take the dust back to the nest.

I did use wasp and hornet spray to attack them one one one, but that's not for the bee phobic. Target practice bees on the ground and in the air. In the air is harder.
