I have some type of tiny flying insect that flys super fast. They constantly fly, running into my skin anywhere it is bare,face, mouth, eyes, ears arms, legs etc. By the time you reach to rub where it is flying against you, it is already on another part of you. They will not leave me alone. They don't bother my husband , but they do my stepson and my grandaughter. They won't land so we can't smash them. And they are very tiny. I think they go through stages. It seems , at first they are so tiny, you just feel a slight tickle on your skin. Then after a few weeks, you can tell they are not floating, but flying fast, running into your hair and skin. I sit in my office with a scarf on my head just so I don't feel them. It is very annoying. I have found what looks like a gnat or something small occaisionally on a window. One had black spots on its wings. The others I found upstairs in the bathroom. 2 on the curtain and 2 in the tub, after it had been used. They were a brown color. What could they be and what would they eat . So I can cut off the food supply. I've looked for anything . No food around. Tthey don't get on fruit or vinegar. I've tried that. I can't find any fungus or old food. I have an aquarium in my office, but it is clean also.These bugs seem to follow me around. I really need help. They are driving me cwazy!
They don't bite. If they are biting, it doesn't hurt or leave any spot. A few times I've had one hover right in front of me, like it is looking at me, but I can't get my hand there in time to smash it. We have thought about bombing ,but where are the new hatches coming from. This has been since last fall. And I am worried about bombing the house. Won't the spray get on my furniture Etc. What could these bugs be and what can we do? Thanks

You'll need to catch some so they can be identified. Try rolling some invisible tape into a sticky trap and setting it near where they fly (like we used to do to stick posters up in the dorm). Once you have a few specimens the local county extension office or a university biology department can i.d. them. When you know what they are, you can control them.

You could call Orkin or some other pest control company and see if they know what they are and have a treatment.
