    My routine:

Morning: Sweep bathroom floors before shower. Dump contents of dustpan into toilet. Wipe rim of toilet with tp then flush with the bugs. Shower with scotchbrite sponge or similar. Make sure you scrub feet, between toes, bottom of feet. Dry off with towel you use for 1 day only. Apply coconut oil all over. Rub feet with Tea Tree oil which kills fungus that attracts mites. Put 3-4 oreganol (P73 concentrated oregano oil from Mediterranean) under tongue. Run nit comb through wet hair to remove any mites.

Dress in clothing I have ironed the previous night.

I take masking tape to work with me and I use all day long to remove mites from my workspace and body. I also clean my workspace with diluted enzyme solution (Kleen Free) with a few drops peppermint oil in it. I spray it in my keyboard before leaving at night.

Back home again, shoes off at the door. I vacuum all floors and my shoes, then put the shoes in a ziplock bag. I do 2 loads of laundry using the following: epsom salts, oxygen bleach (Oxiclean), liquid or powdered laundry detergent, Borax and enzyme solution (1 cup for large load). Do NOT use hot hot water if you use enzymes. Enzymes are active at body temp. If washing whites, I use combo of hot water, bleach and Pine Sol.

When the laundry is done, I take everything out and put it in its own ziplock bag with a mothball before storing it. Dirty laundry goes into a large garbage bag with a no-pest strip in it. I date the no-pest strip and throw it out after 3 months. The bag gets changed weekly. I handle dirty laundry with gloves.

I strip the bed every other night and wash the sheets as above. I scrub the dust mite mattress cover and the dust mite pillow cover with either orange oil cleaner (Zep from Home Depot) on a sponge, or use Lysol (a more expensive, but equally effective solution). Put new sheets on the bed. Blanket and comforter get washed weekly. Towels are stored in a closet with a ton of menthol crystals in the closet. Any I don't use every week are in ziplock bags.

Never walk barefoot. I use either washable shoes in winter or flip flops in summer. Both must be washed frequently. Can use Dawn dishwashing liquid.

Evening bath before bed. I light incense to quell the activity in the bedrooom before bathing. Sweep the bathroom floor before putting the tub mat down. In the bath, I put either bleach or oxiclean (don't combine these 2), Borax, epsom salts, and Dawn dishwashing liquid. Soak and scrub every inch with scotchbrite sponge. I use a stiff brush to get them out of my eyes. Submerge head and scrub hard to soak any in the hair. Once out, run the nit comb through the hair again. Take another dose of oreganol. Coat myself in Noxema and allow to dry before climbing into bed. In my hair I apply coconut oil with some peppermint oil in it to keep the bugs off my head. I apply the noxema all around my eyes, ears and nose to keep them from crawling in.

I am not bug-free, but I can work. I can take music lessons. I am just exhausted from lack of sleep. Not because of the biting; my bed is largely free of them from this ritual, but because I do not have sufficient time to sleep. I have to decide between sleeping and being bit. So far, I always choose sleep deprivation over being bit. I have had these for a year now. It is certainly better than it was last year because it took me lots of research and experimentation to develop the routine. I keep hoping when we move that we can eventually leave them behind.
