If you can't see it

For everyone who is troubled by skin irritation that feels like insect bites, you need to find out what is causing the irritation. If you cannot see what bites you, odds are it's not a bite.

Environmental factors can cause several different forms of skin irritation.

Dry skin can itch.

Sizing/starch in clothing can irritate.

MANY plants can cause itching and rashes from brushing against them.

If perspiration dries on the skin, it can itch.

Allergies can cause skin irritation.

Molds and fungi release allergy causing spores. Check for mildew. The white/dark fibers many people report sound suspiciously like fungus rhyzomes.

After ALL of the above sources have been eliminated, then start looking for external causes, such as itch mites, collembola springtails, or chigger mites.
