how do i get rid of rats near my chickens?

Asked Jan 21, 2012, 05:27 PM — 2 Answers
i keep my chickens next to my room because i dont have the space to keep them anywhere else. but while normal rodents should be hibernating mine are thriving from the wrmth of the house and the extra winter feed supply from the chickens. i really dont want to poisson the chickens accidentally and especially my family through eating the eggs?

No joke. Put coca cola in short cups all around the area. Not where the chickens can get into it

Does anyone raise chickens in town? I am allowed to have chickens in town so I am building a chicken coop. I ordered some Leghorns and Rhode Island reds. Would like to know any "tricks" or info regarding the best way to handle them. Thanks.
