Getting rid of spiders

Any one know a good way to get rid of spiders.We mostly have little redish brown spiders in the house and outside we get some pretty big red spiders
that make big webs.We have alot of daddy long legs,thou they do not really
bother us that much.They pretty much stay out of the way but the big red spiders outside are the ones we got to watch out for.They like to string out webs across the walkways and I would hate to get one of those on me.
So any one got any tips.

If you do not want to purchase insectide, you must keep the area clean, especially destroying the web.

without knowing your location any spray labled for spiders will work
powerspaying with soap and water will kill any spiders on the exterior of your home. if your in an area where brown recluse is present do not handle them at all!! contact you local state agriculture office with a sample on a mouse glueboard and get their assistance. Danger very important please read link

Go to your local farm supply store. There are lots of products that you can spray that are very safe, but kill everything. I use LD-44 it kills all the bugs in the house and i just spray according to the can on each floor before we leave for an evening...we let our pets out also. This stuff is used on and around dairy cows so it is relatively safe.

There is also some kind of fruit you can put like in your basement that will make the spiders just leave, I can't remember what it's called. You may have seen it before , you hang it in a nylon or something.

Hi,
Here in the Great Smokey Mountains of VA, spiders in the spring and summer are just completly abundant, and awful. Spider webs, (little brown spiders) all over the house eaves, under the eaves, in bushes in front of the house....you name it, we got it.
Finally, last summer, I read about something to do, and it works!
Go to any department store, or Food Store, or anywhere that sells bug spray.
I use Raid Ant Killer, because after reading on the back of the can about what it kills, it lists Spiders.
I bought two cans. Then, walking around the house, holding the can along the base of the house outside, sprayed all around the base of the house....also spraying a little on the ground about 10 inches from the base of the house.
After using a broom to clean off all the spider webs after spraying, it took 2 months for any to start showing up again. No spiders inside or outside the house.
Worked for me. I do wish you the best of luck. Won't be long before I have to buy 2 more cans.

spiders are there because there is a food source. target the food source, get ride of it and then the spiders will die and/or go away. there must be plenty of insects for the spiders to stay. good luck.

control their food supply and/or use fog cans of insecticide (contains very short lived insecticide) which will kill the spiders and also their food source of flying insects and ground insects.

the fruit is a "MOCK orange"....just hide it in a corner or under furnature..it will not smell to humans but the older nastier it gets the better it works. my dad has a couple in his basement..he use to work for a major pest control company.
