Are you a loser?

What is your definition about "loser"?

I constantly think ppl are losers if they drop school coz they spent their money traveling instead of paying tuition, or ppl made big mistakes at work(like talking rubbish about boss, steal stuff), or ppl who don't pass tests coz they don't study hard,
I easily think ppl are loser? and do u think they are losers? or my definition is too strict!

I don't want to think so many ppl are losers...but...I sometimes think ppl who picked the wrong majors at college then they can't find a job they want after they gradauted are losers too!

Do u think they are??

There are other ways of defining a loser, but I don't think you'd like it if I posted them here.

it is possible to never lose.
easy, to never lose, all you have to do is, never quite, never give up, and you cannot lose.
losers are people who give up, who quite, or who cant be bothered at all.

I think we all have qualities that make us a loser in some capacity. I've been the manager for a couple places and I'm sure some of my employees thought I was a loser. But then again, I probably felt the same way about them. It's not an easy defition to define because somebody that is a loser to me is probably not a loser to others. Ultimately the definition must come from with in and forget the society at large.

Well it's funny you mention the school thing. In high school I never studied and didn't care if I passed or failed. I also had other issues at home that just made me give up for awhile. I also didn't understand the importance of studing......and if you want to know the truth at 30 years old and with a Bacholer's degree I'm still not sure of it's importance. I see guys who play sports or people who make movies make much more then I think there worth and I find very little of them intelligent. Listening to an athlete give an interview is mindboggling when I think that some how they 4 pointed there way through college. How could that be I wonder? Because they never had to study for anything and they were given a pass.

Now the vast majority are not going to live the life but I felt no challenge to learn anything until I entered college. That also had to do with the fact I was on my own and not living in a horrible enviroment. But my point is that most people don't study for a reason.

In fact people don't do thing or do things for reasons they may not even be aware of.

Do u think they are??

I wonder every day if I should have done something different. I wonder if I had would I be wealthy or who would I have met. That's the imagination at work. I can't help that although I can help guide it. But everybody is like that.

But you also have no idea what has happened to people you think are losers. I see homeless people every day, and they annoy the living crap out of me with the "do you have any spare change" line. Every single day. I don't even respond to them anymore. But are they losers? To me they are people who are mentally il. To me they are people that were abused as kids and never figured out how to over come it. To me they are people who deserve more of my tax money than any politician does that counts towards their salary. I'd hardly call them losers even though they annoy me. But I know others would and do. So in the end it's up to you to look past the outer shell and dig a little deeper to figure out why this person you think is a loser is acting like they do. You might be surprised to learn that they have a reasonable psychological explanation for their actions.

Haha. I think the fact that you sit here and judge people for chosing things differently then you would have makes you kinda lame. Just because someone spent college money on traveling or made some stupid/silly mistakes in their lives doesn't mean they're "losers". They are living their lives and learning from it. Who are you to pass judgement on others because you disagree with something they have done?

chuff agrees: I think it's interesting you point out how lame someone is for calling others a loser. Maybe the problem isn't with others at all but the lame person in the mirror.
Oracle Monroe agrees: Lol. Set him straight.

Some questions / statements asked seem to be a bit "rough around the edges", but the deeper intention is of a curious mind. If we are not taught or informed that what may seem to be a blanket statement or observation most always has a deeper foundation. I agree very much with Chuff in that we cannot judge a book by its cover.

We get to where we are because of choice or decision. Even if the choice may appear to be "wrong" in our eyes, it was their choice and at the time, the right one.

The word "Loser" is quite harsh, and yet people use that word so freely. Could it be, my friend, that "the unknown" is disturbing to you?...If so, that is ok, maybe take it one step further and ask yourself, "I wonder what's really going on in their life to cause this person to be that way?" That way, instead of judging at face value, your heart grows a bit more to be compassionate and open rather than closed.

You have allot of years ahead of you, I am sure, and you will be faced with this in relationships, work, travel, school of any sorts, and society.

chuff agrees: Great point. Is someone a loser or just different to the point you don't understand them so instead of taking the time to learn, you label them a loser and move on, making things much easier on yourself.

I for one think you need to concentrate on how you look at yourself. when someone is constantly thinking others are "losers" they are most likely very unhappy with their own selves.

Pook_Myster agrees: Agree completely!
chuff agrees: Exactly, anybody that has to judge somebody else to make themselves feel better is really the biggest loser of them all.

Are you the kind of person that likes to be in control?

You sound very directed and focused on your own goals, and that is wonderful - but just because others around you don't see the world in the same way, they aren't losers. Losers are people who have no regard for others - they are alcoholics, cheaters, drug addicts and liers......Someone that would rather spend their money on travel that tuition is a free spirit, care-free, wanting to smile and enjoy life.......there should be more people like that in the world.

I believe that your interpretation of the word 'Loser' is a little harsh, and you should take some time out and spend it doing something wild - Go Bungy jumping or sky diving!

startover22 agrees: We will never really know why people do what they do, will we? So true. I hope it is all for the better!
