Volunteer at your local retirement home. Im sure the elderly would enjoy your company. I know what your thinking...yuck right! I promiss just do it once. You will enjoy it

Have you ever tried Yoga, that could kill some time during the day and help strengthen and stretch your muscles?
A small herb or flower garden?
Do you have a camera? What about photography?

Scrap booking! It doesn't have to be expensive, it all depends on how elaborate you want it to be.

Making a scrapbook of memories is a great way to get over depression. Pick out pictures from your childhood, with friends, family, etc.

Many scrapbook stores have scrap nights. You pay a small fee "where I am it's $5 and they host a scrap night every Friday", spend 6 hours with people that are also scrapbooking, all ages.

When you're done, you have a book that's unique in every way, just like you. You can write down what you were doing in each picture, so you have it as a memory for when you're older, something to show your kids.

Other volunteer opportunities might be a local animal shelter or hospital. Think about what you like to do. For example, if you like to cook, look into some local cooking classes. Maybe teaching art and craft ideas to children. You might look into any local day camps or weekly camps in your area to work as a camp counselor. Often the counselors get to attend for free and either earn a little money or can do so as a volunteer. Check out your local newspaper for ideas of events that are coming up in your area. You could participate in, or help out at, some of those. You will also find other volunteer activities that are available. Check with your counselor at school for suggestions as well.
