I need to relax! But how?
I'm a UCLA student studying aerospace engineering, and for the last year, I have been having such a hard time finding time to do all the work I need to do. My last year I have had many very stressful classes with group projects, lots of work that I've had to do most of. I've been on overload for so long. I get scared when it get dark outside cause I feel my life slipping away. The weird part is, the stressful part is over. But I have been so scared for so long, that it seems I now live in fear of not having enough time in the day.

I live with my girlfriend and a roommate. Both have done everything to comfort me. My girlfriends studying cosmetology, and tries giving me relaxing facials, but those don't work either! Can someone help me! :(

    Do you exercise?

Running or a contact sport is an excellent way of relieving pent up stress and frustration.

Now that you have time perhaps you could look into starting an activity.

    Sleep..

Make sure you get plenty of sleep, but of course if your stressed sleep will be hard to come by, I suggest a relaxation cd at bedtime.

Mediatate... some men find it a little sissy, but it works, and no one has to know.

Learn how to breathe properly.. sounds easy, but you would be amazed how many people don't breathe right.

As well as sport,do you have a hobbie?

Finding something to get absorbed in is a great way to let the mind wander.

Try going to the gym. Playing sports? Joining clubs? You can't completely dedicate all your time to studies, it will definitely overload you. Sometimes you need to get away a bit to clear your mind so that you can be more refreshed when you get back to your schoolwork.

Otherwise, you might want to consider dropping a course to reduce your load. Then try to take some summer courses to make up for the reduced load during the year. Even if you don't want to take courses in the summer, there's no shame in reducing your load to graduate a little later. Burning yourself out would be worse than graduating 1 or 2 semesters later.

    Hi, tam1234!

Are there any things in your normal routine that you can cut out in order to give you some time to relax, please?

    Thanks!

I agree with all of the above advice and can only add that you must learn to prioritize.

If you are falling behind in any particular subject, perhaps you could receive some tutoring in those areas.

Work on strengthening your study skills and know that studying when tired and or stressed is very counter productive.

Take frequent breaks ,have a good study environment (quiet)and do some exercise when studying.
Take a break and walk around the block.

Avoid junk food and over drinking and don't beat yourself up if you can't do it all!

Stress is a powerful motivator and not all stress is bad for you. There is good stress.

Know yourself and your limits and when you are going in the bad stress zone, take a break and turn off your internal dialog for a few minutes and zone out.

    OP,
Consider dropping one of the classes if it is not too late.

I had to drop one class during a semester, it's not the end of the world, OP. Better than wearing yourself out and not making good grades. My advisor told me before as long as there are not more than 3, you will be okay.
