Salary treatment with Sick and Vacation pay

If you are salaried at 40 hours per week and you have company paid vacation and sick leave how do you calculate your pay for the week if you are absent for 4 hours of one day.

If you are truly salaried you will not have anything deducted from your pay. If you are hourly you will have the 4 hours deducted. If you are absent did that mean you went home early ill or just went home early for personal reasons? Either way it should not matter.
