payroll discounted hours

I work 9 hours a day monday to friday and 7 hours the saturdays.
that mean 40 regular hours and 12 overtime.
When i take a day off during the week (monday to friday) the company discount the 9 hour from the overtime, the company said to me that is a payrool law in New York.
it is true?

sincerely

THOMAS MORRIS

A company legally only has to pay overtime on any hours worked over 40 hour. Your employers answer was correct.

If you are regularly scheduled to work 9 hours then yes, they can deduct that amount from your weekly time.
