1. Some truth
2. I think we need to agree what makes a cancer cell here. There is no clear cut line between fine and cancerous, the mutations take time to build up. Most times the aberrant cells are spotted and either kill themselves or are killed before they make more of themselves.
3. The immune system does have a prominent role in detecting rogue cells.
4. Untrue
5. Strengthening the immune system will help fight pre cancerous cells.
6. True, unfortuanely. However new more targeted drugs are being developed, but they will end up being very expensive (like herceptin).
7. True but worded in a scaremongering way. With radiation therapy the radiation is focused onto the unhealthy tissue, however damage can still be done around the site.
Radiation Therapy and You - National Cancer Institute
8. Yup there is no magic bullet.
9. True but it is not really the 'toxic burden' as much as any fast dividing cell is targeted. Your immune system contains many fast dividing cells to respond quickly to threats.
10. Sometimes true unfortuanely.
11. Not true. This seems to be getting confused with the warburg effect
Warburg effect - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
> WHAT CANCER CELLS FEED ON:
a. Your beginging to anthromorphise cancer here. Yes a helathy diet low in sugar and salt is good but it doesn't starve a cancer.
b. "Cancer feeds on mucus." What? This statement is ridiculous.
c. I would like some evidence here. Once again this is just healthy eating advice (which I'm not against) re packaged as anticancer advice.
d. You don't get enzymes form your food in this way. Enzymes are made by you in your cells using protein building blocks (amino acids) that they have got from protein you have digested earlier. This paragraph is a rime exampe of the whole piece mixing known science (denaturing of enzymes) in with absolute nonsense.
e. Standard healthy eating advice again. I don't think it will miraculously cure anyone of cancer.
12. Meat is one of the easier to digest foods. Fat is hardest along with plant material, refined sugar is the easiest (you can get that in your bloodstream under your tongue).
Meat for Digestion - TIME Here is how the digestive system actually works
http://digestive.niddk.nih.gov/ddiseases/pubs/yrdd/
13. "Cancer cell walls have a tough protein covering." They have the same covering of normal cells a lipid bilayer studded with proteins (receptors, channels, adhesion enzymes) "eating less meat it frees more enzymes to attack the protein
walls of cancer cells and allows the body's killer cells to destroy
the cancer cells." Just complete nonsense. Your digestive enzymes do not get freed up to circulate your bloodstream fighting cancer like some sort of digestive calvary. Which is what I think it is trying to say but in the athours mind I think anything is possible.
14. I can't comment on the validity of this point.
15. Believe what you want if it makes you feel better.
16. Another case of getting confused about the Wargurg effect and how far you can take it read this critique for an in depth understanding
Oxygenation Therapy: Unproven Treatments for Cancer and AIDS
Oh dear what a shambels of proper science smashed up with nonsense to make it sound believable. I order to pester sick people, possibly out of money, offfering false hope and sometimes distracting them away from possible real cures.
It annoys me that there is an industry geared towards exploiting the vulnerable.
