    No thermometer!
I think my son has a fever his back and head are hot. I don't have a thermometer and no car to go get one at the moment. He's not throwing up or anything just a little fussy. Is there a way to know if he has a fever high enough to go to the hospital? Or am I just out of luck because I have no thermometer?

How old is he and how is he acting? Eating well, behaving about the same? If you notice a marked difference in behavior, or he is just a few months old, then you might want to take him in.

With an older child, especially, you can often look more at how they are acting compared to the actual temp. For example, I would be more concerned about a two year old with a 100 degree temp who was very lethargic and just did not look well, than I would with one who had a 102 degree temp but was eating pretty well, and still bebopping around for the most part.

Certainly keep tabs on him and see how he does. Could you ask a neighbor or family member to pick up a thermometer for you?

Doula, if I remember correctly, this child is 18 months. Sooo, he could be teething, he could have an ear infection, etc.

I think I figured out the problem.. He"s been staying with his father/grandmother during the week while I go to school... they give him milk alll day long! He puked up a whole bunch of milk and then he fell asleep and now he's awake he's fine. (didn't fall asleep until 3am though) Im going to have to have a talk with them! They are so lazy they just stuff a bottle of milk in his mouth when he whines.. uugh I can't wait until I graduate so I can take care of him properly >.< thanks for the advice
