Why does my chair keep eating my jacket?
It gets really cold inside our office so I sometimes bring a jacket. Having no rack, I hang it on this chair. However, my jacket gets stuck. It won't let go when I try to get it after realizing it's already getting too cold.

One time I forced one jacket out and it got ripped.

All the other jackets were saved by just me getting it before going home forgetting it was actually stuck before. The chair lets go just like that.

    Why does this keep happening?
If you have similar experiences, please let me know.

    Thanks.

Burn the old chair. Get a new chair from Wal-Mart.

it still got my adidas jacket. It's got sentimental value. First purchase of my mother when she started working as a teacher. And this chair is the company's property.

... wait is this a serious question?

Perhaps when you sit down, it gets stuck? It's one thing if it doesn't get stuck and your jacket just won't come off the chair... but.. I don't know...

Yes, it's serious. And I just got my jacket back. I really don't know why. I was trying to get it earlier and this chair won't let go. But now that I reached for it oblivious it was stuck earlier I got it just like that. It's so weird.

When you lean back in those springy backed chairs your jacket falls into the springy part, and when you sit up, it gets stuck. So push the back of the chair back and take your jacket off the chair.

Either that or stop farting and making the chair mad and want to fight back! :P

Get a hook and put it up somewhere near your desk and hang it there instead of your chair

Or instead of Walmart--because I bet those chairs are hungry too--try preownedaerons.com. Affordable ergonomic chairs at their finest, I'm telling you. I just bought one myself.

I got to tell you this one is unusual even by my standards! Sometimes when something wants something very badly, you should just give it to them. Go to goodwill and buy a cheap jacket and say to the chair, "here, this is yours," and let it have it to eat or whatever it is the chair does with them. That sort of trick works with things like Boggles, which are a kind of sprite that steals car keys and small items and then puts them back in obvious places that you've looked. If you're plagued by those, you can make a small shrine for them and give them a bunch of small shiny things so they leave you alone.

I know this answer sounds silly, and there is an element of playfulness to it, but it also has a grain of seriousness: In both small and large things, we can change our energy by choosing not to see the things and people around us as adversaries. Just think how different our country would be if Bush followed that philosophy...

    Blessings,

    Alder

Thanks everybody for posting. Stop worrying about the chair. We are in good terms now. LOL! I leave my jacket here for three days now and no eating happened anymore.

Besides this is an old post. I'll figure out how to close this thread.

Thanks again and God bless you all.

I have a permanent fix for this: go get a screwdriver, canteloupe and a swiss Army knife and respond back to me when you have these things!

    P.s. this has happened before!

What is the OP supposed to do with them?

    Chairs don't eat cantaloupe, silly.

    Everyone knows that.

    They eat *jackets*.

    :)

Really, it's like a riddle! I'm too curious for words. What are they for?

P.S. are you going to stab the chair? Because it might bleed green.

    *wink
