when does the soul form?

I understand that when you die your soul leaves your body, but when does it enter? At birth or conception?

scientifically, the religious idea of the soul is not really accepted. The closest thing would be the concept of the mind, and is recognised as a function of the brain, and not somethign that lives on after death.

Depending what you're looking for, you might want to try the Religious Discussions or the Philosophy board. (Though I think the science board is the right place to be if you want to know about the reality of the situation).

Science Did not create you so science is not going to tell you when your soul is born. From a Christian point of view a soul is born from the moment your conceived, Your a living being from that moment. But There are many ideas of that to. So its really a personal perspective on life and who you believe in.

that really depends on who you ask. personally, i think it's when you are born, but not before as some people would think. Some might even say that when a person is dying and sees the light in the tunnel is when your soul is reincarnated. the light is from the opening of the vagina. ...but like I said, it depends on who you ask.

Cap, this is the long time conversation between evolution and creation. It would go on forever. Ours believes are different and we would never come to a solution. I respect your thoughts on the matter, But i will still disagree, as you will with me. So we can just agree to disagree.

The soul, spirit and mind are not organs...they are an awareness.when does an unborn child become aware of its surroundings, dam if i can remember, they react to sound and light, voice and movement.

the brain connects neurons in the different sections of our brains so we learn.
but again,where is the mind?

the spirit is moved by beauty, sadness and joy..but where does that reside in the body?

the soul....if scientist believe in fact, that which they can see, hear, smell, and touch..i dare them to look into the face of a loved one and say,'you have no soul'.

is the soul a religious concept, maybe at first, but have we not evolved enough to know there are many things we do not know, only the certainty that we will die.

coming back off the beaten track...i dont know the frigging answer to that one!
