As a paranormal investigator, I've experienced quite a few EVPs in my time and I've even theorized on certain methods. For instance I was investigating one home with my team where a son had died and the mother was desperately searching for affirmation that he was still present. Anyhow, as we were investigating the attic, I noticed a Pimsleur German Language CD case and I asked the mother if anyone in the house spoke German, she replied no, but that the son had been trying to learn German.

So as an experiement I began asking questions in German. Let us note that none of the other investigators or residents spoke or understood German. After review my EVP work, I was amazed to discover I was receiving replies in German. For instance, I ask "Where are the ghosts" in German to which the rely was "Dot Derum" (sp) which means "Over there" another example was I asked "Please speak to me" Saget su mich, bitte" and a small child replied "Ser Gutte, ich bin ocht" which means, "Very well, I am eight".

To all other investigators and paranormal enthusiast, keep this method in mind when performing EVP. Investigate the history of a residence or place and remember a few phrases in other languages to ask.

This not only leads credence that EVPs are in fact real, but worth scientific study. I intend to write a case study on this indent after I've conducted a more thorough study.
