I don’t know if you can help me, but I need to know what I am seeing. Any advice would be great, or maybe I am seeing spirits?

One night I was walking home, it was dark, and I was alert as always so that nothing bad would happen. I was scared for it was rather late, but it was otherwise a typical walk home. I walked down the busy street so that people would see me if I were to get kidnapped or whatever, I’m always scared of that, but then I saw something. A family at the side of the sidewalk, two parents and three children, they looked like they were from a long time ago like Mennonites or something like that. They were just standing there, they looked sort of unhappy, but nothing too bizarre, the bizarre part was that when I looked back again at them they were gone. They weren’t real.

So I continued on, a bit more scared now, when I stopped dead in my tracks seeing a girl walking towards me, a woman probably in her twenties. She was only there briefly and she disappeared, so I kept on going home.

It was then that I saw the boy; again he wasn’t real, as in alive or a physical being. I could just sense it. But it wasn’t a normal boy, he was crouched against the bushes and his face was all distorted like he’d been in an accident or he had been badly burned or something like that, I looked again and he was gone.

Often now I see little things, and strange things seem to adore me. Often, like right now, sitting in my house alone or with my parent asleep I feel like there is something watching me. Especially when I look up ghosts and whatnot, it feels like someone is literally looking over my shoulder. I am absolutely terrified to go into my basement, I have to turn on all the lights. When I'm down there I have to sing as loud as possible, constantly looking over my shoulder, and when I'm done what I'm doing literally run up the stairs because I feel like something is chasing me.

For some reason I adore black cats, and I have hallucinations of them sometimes, like one disappearing behind a bush. Cats are common for me to hallucinate/see now, I feel a very strong connection with them and I'm not sure why. I hate going out when it's foggy because I'm terrified of what I might see. Please help me, I need to know what's going on.

Are these hallucinations? Or am I seeing something else?

(As a background note, sometimes I dream things that will happen the next day or further in the week. I have deja vu alot, too. I have discovered that I am an Empath, and I can often tell what people are thinking and say the same thing at the same time as certain people close to me.. but what is it if these really are ghosts?)

Okay, first I would like to address the dreams that come true eighter the next day or week. I always had that. I can sense things before they happen. Deja vu happens a lot as well for me. Yes, everything you describe I have experianced. Except, knock on wood I have not experianced seeing a ghost or apparition.

Secondly,

These experiances of people appearing and disappearing. Not necessarily all of them are ghosts. For example: We all have energy. We all leave impressions of our experiances where ever we go. Some people are so sensitive they can pick up these energies and actually see imprints that people in the past left. So not necessarily the things you see are ghosts but just imprints of energies left from people in the past.

Thirdly,

There is nothing to be afraid of. Nothing at all. You are have such a strong sensitivity to our surroundings and it is a very good gift to have. You will be able to handle it. You do not have to be scared of these. None of these experiances will harm you. You always have protection.

I am also empathic, often have prophetic dreams and see things-- especially left-over energy like Jesushelper describes, as well as other entities. I have never ever had cause to think any of it would hurt me once I got over being spooked by it. I seem to open channels to stuff without realising it and end up knowing things about people and such I ought not to or can't easily explain. I have, at times, tried to warn people to absolutely no avail, so it has caused me to learn how to mind my own business. I rarely talk about it except to a few close friends who I know won't die laughing.

Have you ever read anything by Sylvia Browne?? I think alot of your questions may be answered for you by reading her books. I have many and they are so comforting when I have that "feeling" of someone being there. I too abhor basements as once while sleeping at an in-laws house I didn't realize my husband had been upstairs for half an hour when I was woken by "something" pulling the blankets up over my shoulders after I stated I was cold. When I opened my eyes and realized I was alone I made a fast retreat. I never went back in their basement and went in search of a medium. She told me that I was perectly safe as obviously it was either my spirit guide/gaurdian angel watching over me. Or a very friendly, caring spirit, possibly a family member who had crossed over. At that time I didn't believe in anything but as the years have past and I've seen more proof of spirits I do believe some people are more sensative to them, you must be one of them. Find comfort in your self, then seek out those answers
