    Unexplainable moment
Is it possible for someone to walk into a room and the smell of my perfume be so strong that it gagged him, yet I lived two states away, and hadn't been there for months? What does that mean? We'd been friends for over 20 years, and I hadn't lived by him for 16 of those years, we discovered that we've always loved each other and never said anything until three months before this happened. And the funny thing is, he walked out of the room because the smell was so strong, yet when he walked back into the room less than a minute later, the smell was completely gone!! Anyone that I've talked to about this, can't give any good explanation for it. He was completely freaked out by this. I hadn't sent letters with perfume on them, hadn't left any of my things at his house. Looking for an explanation and also would like to hear from anyone else with similar experience. Thanks!

I know that when some paranormal activity takes place that the smell of flowers can sometimes be there... just as sometimes cold spots are where paranormal activity is. Have you asked him if he was recently thinking about you at the time of this happening? If so, he could have been having a type of "de ja vu" experience right at that moment... especially this could be so since he did not smell the fragrance when he returned to the room. You two must have a real "connection".

I have not had a "fragrance" experience... but at the moment that my father died... I got goose bumps through my whole body and thought of my dad... we must know that this physical world is not the only "world" around us...

For years we had the smell of someone smoking a pipe at different times during the week. It was similar to that of the pipe my wife's uncle used to smoke when they owned the house ( they had been passed away many years)

We also of course had things fly off the fireplace and also off the desk and the motion detectors where being set off all the time.

But yes smell is often used as a sign

My dad, who's been dead about 25 years, smoked roll-your-own cigarettes. Ever since he died, I've occasionally smelled cigarette smoke -- although nobody in the house smokes. I think it's just his way of letting me know he's around.

I wondered, at one point, if any of my other relatives were ever around. Then one day, while I was working in my office, the room filled with a strong scent of spicy soap. I couldn't imagine where it might have come from (it smelled like the inside of a soap shop in my town) but was later reminded of the scent of my grandparent's bathroom -- from my grandfather's favorite Old Spice products.

You were probably perspiring the first time and depending on the reason, you body produces different chemicals that mix with your perfume and can cause really good and often really bad results. Find another perfume.

Yea, that happened to me 2. Only it wasn't a really strong smell. Just a pleasant one. But no one was around at tha time, it was kind of weird. I always thought that it could've been an angel passin' through. I hope that doesn't sound stupid :/ -Spidey

I think spirits often announce their presence with scent. Interesting, though, that this one was the perfume of someone still living.

Early one morning, my husband and I both smelled a strong scent of cinnamon (I noticed that someone else in this topic got that scent, too) around our front steps. Absolutely nothing to explain it. It didn't smell like something baking with cinnamon in it but like a freshly opened package of ground cinnamon.

    Ah, so many mysteries!

Scents being smelled when no one else is around can usually be related to a person who has died, it is like a signature. However in this case, it was definitely a sign and it seems like you may have gotten the message
