    Sensing Death and dreams
A couple of years ago this happened to me in my old house. I don't know if it was a dream, or a halucination or what, but after reading a few stories here it was brought back into my mind.

It was early in the morning, probably about 3:30am and dark. I wasn't feeling very well and was in bed. I woke up and I had a very bad feeling. I felt sick, but at the same time I felt there was something there. It kind of felt like I was going to die. I opened my eyes and I saw next to my bed a tall figure in black who then moved their hand towards me. I closed my eyes and hid more under my quilt and started asking God to help me (I am not really that religions by the way, I am Agnostic). I was absolutely terrified as I felt like I was going to die or be taken away by 'Death'. I then ran into my parents room and I can't recall what happened after that.

It sounds kind of weird and steriotypical but that kind of makes me think maybe it was a dream? But then that would mean something too wouldn't it?

Also, I don't know how old I was, but the earliest memory I can recall (maybe from when I was 3-4years) is an image of me having a dream. It was in a cemetery and a nun was there and said something. I still remember the sound of what she said, but not what the words were or what they meant. The next thing I saw was me (as a child, as I was when I had the dream) sitting upright in my bed.

It all seems to weird to me as both occurrences are related to religion and not going to church or anything it is weird. Do these two things have any significance, or are they just weird dreams that I have had a long time ago?

I have experienced this also and have read up on it out of curiosity. It was a dream but the kind of dream you are struggling to awake from, maybe because you feel afraid. There is something called nocturnal visions - If I remember correctly its about coming awake but not quite - this is the dream state where some people can believe they saw a ghost at the foot of their bed. I hope that explains it a little. Doing some research on dreams might help more.

One thing that fascinates me about dreams is that they can be simple, or detailed and complex, and that there are so many types of dreams.

Bluerose, I have heard about nocturnal visions.. although I know more about astral travel.
Amor, if your going to look into nocturnal dreams, may I suggest astral travel as well?

It may sound weird to most people but when we enter a dream state we can see or experience more some things that we may not otherwise. Sometimes deceased can communicate with us when we sleep.

Out of curiosity, was my story about my mothers passing one of the stories that brought your own experiences back to mind?

I didn't know what to post this under, so I hope I posted it under the most appropriate subject. Normally I wouldn't ask a question like this (due to having a lot of crazy dreams that I'm OK with) Last night I had a dream that I woke up in my pajamas, that a monstrous poisonous dark colored...

Motion Sensing Wall Switch causes flickering lights [ 4 Answers ]

I just bought a Cooper Motion sensing wall switch. I wired it (correctly?) and I am getting flickering lights when the switch automatically turns itself off. I have good lights in the "on" positions, and when I turn the lights off there is no flicker. However, when the "motion" stops, the light...

Dreams [ 5 Answers ]

Is it normal for pups to dream, cry out, and have her eyes wide open like she's scared? She's 9 weeks old and often "runs" in her sleep and makes noises, which is normal, she "sucks" as if she's nursing, which I also know is normal, but a couple of times it's as if she's afraid of something,...
