I seen a black figure at the end of my bed the other night
I was awake and watching TV. It was very late. The room was dark, but I seen this figure that seemed to be sitting in the floor and it stood up and then it was gone. I wasn't scared from this at all. I have seen several things in my house . It is over 100 years old. Things like this don't scare me. What could this be ? It just vanished after it stood up. It was very black and I could tell it was a figure of someone. But I seen no face at all. Has anyone else seen something like this before ?

Yes. I have seen things like this before, many times.

I'm not trying to dismiss that it may not have been a ghost of some kind. I don't want to believe in them, but the fact is that I have had certain experiences in my life that would seem to point to them being real.

However, what I like to do is to try and find any sort of logical explanation as to why something has happened before I assume that something is from the paranormal.

Here are the facts that you have presented:

I was awake and watching t.v.
Okay, how close were you to the t.v. when you were viewing it? How long were you viewing it? Staring at a t.v. or computer screen over an extended period might cause your eyrs to play tricks on you.

    It was very late.
If it was very late, then were you tired? Being tired can also give way to our eyes playing tricks on us.

    the room was dark
We can't see as well in the dark as in the light. We want to see things, even if it is dark. We might imagine that we see something in the dark, because our minds want to be seeing something as though it were light enough to see.

but I seen this figure that seemed to be sitting in the floor and it stood up and then it was gone.
Any other light source coming into the room? Cars passing by? Trees swaying in the breeze, their shadows being illuminated by street lights on the walls of the room?

Those are some of the facts. Please look at the other possibilities that there might be as to explanations for what you saw before thinking that it is something from the paranormal.

Most of my life, I have lived in homes that are well over 100 years old. I have had a few encounters with things for which I have had no explanation - things moving when there was no force in view to move them, smells that occurred but had no source as to the smell, seeing things that were made of light and also those that were made of darkness.

Please first, look for all of the logical explanations that you can. Plus, what were you watching on t.v. What I have seen in the homes in which I have lived have also been influenced by what I have been watching on t.v.

    Just some suggestions.

If you are looking for something to be a paranormal experience, then chances are, you are going to come up with reasons to believe that it is really something paranormal. If you are looking for logical explanations as to why something can't be the way that it seems, then most likely, you will find logical explanations for as to why something appears to be the way that it seems.

I have also encountered this figure. I was laying in my bed one night with my head covered up because I couldn't sleep due to a really bad thunder storm. When I removed the cover from over my head I saw a black figure as the lightning strikes lit up my room. It was sitting on me with its arms crossed looking down at me. It had no eyes or any facial features and it was weightless. Scared me out of my mind. When the room lit up again it was gone.

Yes, I have seen a figure like this when I was 21, only I was asleep just before hand, when my leg was shaken vigorously. When I woke up it was not my mother standing there but this figure; I was startled as I thought I was late for work and it was the middle of the night and this thing standing at the end of the bed. I stared at it and then when I was sure it was there pulled the covers over my head. After about 10 minutes I had a peek and it was gone. I put the light on and my radio and couldent sleep all night. My grandmother died a few days later who was staying with us at the time. We lived in a brand new house at the time and I have never seen anything like it ever since.

The age of a home has nothing to do with whether a home can have a spirit residing there or not. The home's age simply gives a spirit more possible reasons to have been there over the years. There are many reasons a spirit may attach to a person or a home. Usually, the spirits feels it has a right to be there.

Also, whether you fear a spirit or not lends nothing to it's true intentions. Some people see these things once while others experience it multiple times throughout their life. If it is something that stays and keeps manifesting in the home I recommend that you talk to a Christian ministry in your area that could offer some counseling on what it really is. They should then also remove it.
